Shopify Detector & Spy privacy policy
Effective 1 November 2026 ยท Version 1.0.4Shopify Detector & Spy Catalog Scraper - Export to JSON/CSV detects Shopify storefronts and exports public catalog data. This policy covers the Chrome extension. Contact: [email protected]. Publisher website: whoareyouanas.com.
Storefront data
When you open the extension on a storefront, it reads the active page URL and public page information to identify the store, page type, collection links, displayed currency and product counts. It also makes public requests to that store or its detected/verified Shopify shop to check catalog and collection counts. Choosing Get data retrieves exposed products, variants, descriptions, tags, prices, availability, image links and related public catalog fields.
Catalog data, source URLs, observation timestamps and capture checkpoints stay in the extension's local browser storage and in files you choose to download. Shopify Detector & Spy does not upload them to a developer server or Dodo Payments. Storefront requests go directly from your browser to the store or its Shopify catalog host, without cookies; the store receives normal connection information such as your IP address and requested endpoint. Images are exported as links and are not fetched by the product preview.
Licensing and payments
The Free plan records the number of captured products used during each UTC calendar month in your browser profile. For Pro, we retain your license key, its activation instance, product association, verification status and time, a local installation identifier, and a public business identifier when returned by Dodo.
Newly saved license records are encrypted with AES-GCM using a non-extractable key kept in the same browser profile. This does not protect data from someone who controls your unlocked browser or device. Pre-release records are upgraded when next successfully validated.
Activation, validation and deactivation send the license key and necessary installation or instance identifiers to Dodo Payments over HTTPS. These requests do not include your catalog records. Checkout and subscription management open Dodo's own pages; Dodo handles the billing, payment and customer information you enter there under its own privacy terms. Shopify Detector & Spy does not read or store your card details.
Permissions and limited use
The extension uses temporary active-tab access and script injection to read the storefront you select, plus access to the configured Dodo license service. It does not request access to all websites, browser history or cookies, and does not collect browsing activity in the background. It has no advertising, analytics or tracking SDK.
Shopify Detector & Spy uses website content and browsing information only to provide its visible catalog-export features. It does not sell this data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to data brokers. Its use of information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion
Local captures remain until you clear them, clear extension storage, remove the browser profile or uninstall the extension. Clear this capture removes that capture and its checkpoint. Monthly usage and licensing are separate records; deleting a capture does not reset the monthly allowance. Deactivate this device releases the license activation and removes the local license record after a successful deactivation or confirmation that it is inactive. It does not cancel the subscription. Manage subscription opens Dodo's portal for billing changes.
Uninstalling removes the extension's local storage. Previously downloaded files stay on your device until you delete them. Dodo retains payment and subscription records under its own terms. If you email support, the information you choose to send is used to respond to that request; do not send card details or a full license key.
